Portland Bazaar
I had a great time at the Portland Bazaar today! Lot’s of quirky stuff to browse and buy, if you an afford it that is. This is just a quick note because it’s late.

Although I love my freedom, having moved out of my bedroom at my parents house, there are drawbacks to where I currently reside. I started school this fall and it’s been wonderful, frustrating, exciting, annoying, creepy, pleasurable. The building my dorm is in is rather old, but not in a fascinating way. It’s old in a rusted pipes, cracked foundation kind of way. It’s pleasant enough to look at, but living there has it’s downsides. Over the entrance way on the facade of the building there are Egyptian engravings representing a alumni who participated in the excavation of Tutankhamen. This was pointed out on the tour we had for orientation. A cute boy remarked to me that King Tut’s curse killed off most of the team that did the excavation. I think he was trying to show off, and it worked. I gave him my # at the end.
Hot showers; that is what I miss most about home. Sorry mom and dad, it’s not you or your home cooked meals that I miss the most. I love you and all, but you have to admit we were driving each other crazy the last year or two. The water just stops running if you wait too long to shower. Sometimes I shower at the gym if I wake up too late.
The view out my window is nice though. My campus is right downtown and my room looks out over the park blocks that run through campus. I watched the leaves turn colors. I really should have taken pictures. I need a new camera. My point-and-shoot works for basic things, but I need to get a real camera and learn how to use it. Maybe I’ll ask santa for one this year.
