”..his greatest concern is getting isolated in the White House, away from the experiences of the American people…The letters impact him greatly.”

This is the kind of stuff that makes me optimistic.  In my opinion, people, when empowered, end up trapped by what makes them powerful.  Their job, often the source of their power, becomes their life in almost all ways possible.  As commander in chief, problems become macro in a sense, and it becomes difficult to work with them in a micro fashion.  Obama has done an outstanding job proving that he understands that “real people” are affected by many, if not all of the same problems he is working on eliminating.  This just adds emphasis to the truth - he’s putting real names together with real problems.

This is probably the most awesome..

..thing I’ve seen in weeks.  It’s apparently from Design You Trust.  I’ve spent about 5 hours just looking at pictures on the Internet today.  Woot! for being productive. [Web]

November 5th, 2008 - Barack Obama is President Elect.
I want to thank Nicole for driving me 40 minutes down to Wilton, just so that I could vote for the next president.  It’s the dedication of people like her that gets things done.
Let me start off by saying that I know there are reasons for a lot of people to not like either Senator Obama, or Senator Biden.  Both support some form of privacy-invasion on American citizens for example.  Maybe you don’t agree with Obama’s stance on abortion.  I bet even more of you disagree with Biden’s views on Net Neutrality.  But disqualifying Obama because of the color of his skin?  What the fuck is wrong with people? (note: I’m only bitching about this now due to the surprising amount of people close to me who have made racist remarks very recently)  I’m someone who has learned to not take just about anything seriously, which I feel is a valuable tool for living peacefully in Fairfield County.  Believe me, I’ve heard (and even chuckled at) my fair share of racist jokes.  But there are limits.  Unfortunately, it seems like a lot of the same people making these remarks have been simultaneously proving their lack of intelligence (maybe their abundance of ignorance?) lately.  I’m sorry if you feel like you’re one of the people I’m talking about, and are offended.  Please people, get your heads out of your asses. Kota.. He sniffs your hand? Really? However, I am a big fan of just about anything that is pitched as having the ability to “munch”.
I spent four hours yesterday setting up voting machines for the town of Wilton. I know that I’ve talked about how much of a sham our election system is, but if everyone else believes in it, and it means they’re going to vote, then it makes me happy that I was a part of the process. Let me also say.. please people, if you are going to cast a vote, please make sure it is for Barack Obama. I say this for no other reason than that I cannot deal with having to see McCain or Palin all over TV for four more years. The last few months have been quite enough. [Mobile]
